Music Technology

I have been teaching Music Technology at Sinclair Community College for years.

The course has become a collaborative effort where the class shares knowledge.  Individual projects are chosen by students based on what they want to learn.  Those projects are then enhanced by class suggestions, and extended into second projects.  For instance, if you produce music on one app or software, it can often be exported, then imported into another app or software and altered in some way.

In addition, we also learn the mechanics of free but powerful software such as MuseScore, Audacity, and LMMS.

If a course like this interests you (without needing to enroll in a college to take it) and you are in the Dayton area, please send me a note, I will compile a list of matching students, and I will try to get meetings off the ground.

In the meantime, you may be interested in this Music Technology List.
