Kettering Summer Brass Camp 2017

Here are summer opportunities for all brass players, hosted in eastern Kettering, OH.  Please respond as soon as possible if you are interested in, or even just considering participating.  Your reply will help shape the summer.

For 3 years, colleagues and I ran Summer ‘Bones out of University of Dayton and Cincinnati Conservatory, for 2 years I was the Artistic Director for a music festival in Anchorage, Alaska, and now for about 8 years I have hosted smaller brass camps out of my home.  Since 2017 details are not finalized, I can construct this summer’s brass camps based upon who responds to this website.  Curriculum is likely to include fundamental techniques, warming-up, duets, trios, quartets, quintets, brass choirs, jazz style and improvisation, intonation, music theory, instrument care and maintenance, breathing, mental management in performance, auditions, practice techniques, equipment discussion, fun movie music, listening to recordings, faculty demonstration, and more.  Past student populations have varied from a quartet of new 1st-3rd year players to a dozen advanced high school, college level, and adult musicians.  When responses come in, players are grouped by level.  Larger student populations lead to additional faculty.
