I have been passing down the important (and fun!) art of Jazz Improvisation to brass students for years.  But this art form is not instrument-specific: you can play one instrument and study with someone who plays another.  Therefore, all are welcome.  While it is helpful for students to learn as many scales as possible, as thoroughly as possible before we begin, we will work with what you know when you arrive.

Students receive the Jazz Handbook I have assembled for these lessons as well as CDs of back-up tracks for practicing improvisation at home.  Instead of a CD, students can also have these files on a flash drive that they bring. In lessons we will use iReal Pro, Band-in-a-Box, Youtube, and other technology to create the back-up band one needs when practicing improvisation.
